Amanda McLeay

Amanda McLeay is Network Ten's Queensland Weather Presenter, a role she relishes for its variety and spontaneity. Amanda's media experience spans the past 13 years – she has covered news and documentaries, and enjoyed roles as a presenter, journalist and producer. She holds a degree in journalism from Brisbane's Griffith University and was awarded membership to the Golden Key International Honour Society which recognises the university's top 15 percent, high achieving students.
Following university, Amanda cut her broadcast journalism teeth, in regional television. From Rockhampton, London called... where Amanda was employed as a News Producer for ITN, the world's largest independent news organisation.
On returning to Australia, Amanda joined Ten News Sydney... and a few years later, came "home" to Brisbane – a city she adores.
Amanda says exploring Queensland – and meeting Queenslanders – is one of the perks of the job, "such as tracking dinosaur footprints in the Outback and sailing the Whitsundays". She has a pet dog called Rocky – the two of them can be spotted pounding inner city pavements every morning.
