The Christmas Star competition will be running again this year through Family Radio 96.5. The winner receives a great prize package which includes a recording from Brisbane recording studio Hammered Silver – http://www.hammeredsilver.com as well as the opportunity to sing for the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Brisbane Square and the major Carols event on 6th December. CAROLS IN THE CITY FESTIVAL

This year we are commencing a Carols Festival in the Botanic Gardens from midday on the day of the carols. The main purpose of this is to accommodate an ever-increasing crowd with an overflow screen also placed in the sound shell are in the outside Gardens. But the place will be buzzing with entertainment from midday on the Festival Stage with Colin Buchanan coming on at 1pm, Christmas Star runners up throughout the afternoon as well as other fabulous entertainers. There will be rides and food, huge fun for the whole family – much of it free including a massive sausage sizzle! Opportunities for exposure for businesses interested in running a stall are huge, include running advertisements on the big screens at the main event. There are also sites for stalls from midday through to 11pm at night. Stalls that are already booked in include Royal Hospital, 96.5 Family Radio, Channel Nine, Brisbane City Council, Premier’s Department, Scripture Union, Police, Fire Brigade. CHURCH IN THE GARDENS

Sunday morning following the Carols event at 9.30am at the Botanical Gardens Carols Festival Stage there will be a fabulous combined churches Christmas Church Service. Artists from the main Carols event will feature as well as Carols singing and a wonderful combined Church service.
